Financial Technology Mastery Program

We've spent years watching how fintech actually works in the real world. Not the polished version you see in keynote presentations, but the messy, complicated reality of building systems that handle real money for real people.

This program emerged from those observations. We noticed a gap between what universities teach and what the industry actually needs. So we built something different—a nine-month intensive that focuses on practical application over theoretical frameworks.

You'll work with actual financial APIs, wrestle with compliance requirements, and build systems that could genuinely go into production. Because that's what matters when you're trying to break into this field.

How the Program Actually Works

Foundation Phase

10 weeks

Start with the fundamentals that matter. We cover financial systems architecture, payment processing basics, and security principles. You'll also get comfortable with the development tools used across the industry. Nothing fancy here—just solid groundwork that everything else builds on.

Integration Development

12 weeks

Here's where things get interesting. You'll connect to real banking APIs, implement authentication systems, and handle the kind of edge cases that keep developers up at night. We throw realistic scenarios at you—failed transactions, rate limiting, webhook handling. The stuff that textbooks skip over.

Compliance and Security

8 weeks

Regulations aren't optional in fintech. You'll learn what Australian financial services laws actually require, how to implement proper data protection, and why certain security measures exist. We bring in people who've dealt with audits and regulatory reviews to share what they wish they'd known earlier.

Capstone Project

10 weeks

Build something substantial from scratch. Pick a problem area in financial services and create a working solution. You'll present to industry professionals who'll give you honest feedback. Some projects from previous cohorts have actually turned into viable products, though that's not guaranteed for everyone.

Who You'll Learn From

Reuben Caldwell, Senior Financial Systems Architect

Reuben Caldwell

Senior Financial Systems Architect

Spent twelve years building payment infrastructure for three different banks. Reuben handles the technical architecture modules and has strong opinions about database design that he's not shy about sharing.

Saskia Thornbury, Compliance and Integration Specialist

Saskia Thornbury

Compliance and Integration Specialist

Former compliance officer who moved into development because she got tired of explaining regulations to people who didn't understand the technical side. She teaches the regulatory frameworks and security implementation sections.

Naveen Forsyth, API Development Lead

Naveen Forsyth

API Development Lead

Runs the integration phase and brings experience from working with payment gateways across Asia-Pacific. Naveen's particularly good at explaining why certain API design decisions matter more than others in production environments.

Upcoming Intake Periods

We run two intakes per year to keep cohort sizes manageable. Each program takes nine months, and we cap enrollment to maintain the kind of hands-on environment where instructors can actually review your code personally.

2025 and 2026 Start Dates

September 2025 Applications close July 18
March 2026 Applications close January 22

The application process involves submitting your background, completing a technical assessment, and having a conversation with one of our instructors. We're looking for people who can commit to the intensive schedule and have realistic expectations about what nine months of focused learning can achieve.
