Three Pathways, Real Skills

Choose the track that matches where you want to go. All programs start in September 2025, running through March 2026.

Payment Systems Architecture

Learn how money actually moves between systems. We cover APIs, security protocols, and compliance frameworks used by Australian banks and payment providers.

Technology Stack You'll Actually Use

We don't teach theory in a vacuum. You'll work with the same platforms and frameworks that power real fintech companies operating in Australia and globally.

  • REST and GraphQL APIs for financial data integration
  • OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect for secure authentication
  • PostgreSQL and time-series databases for transaction records
  • React and TypeScript for building robust interfaces
  • AWS and Azure services commonly used in financial infrastructure
  • Testing frameworks for mission-critical financial code

By the end of your program, you'll have built at least three portfolio projects that demonstrate your understanding of these tools in realistic scenarios.

How Learning Unfolds

Eight months, structured in phases that build on each other. Most students spend 15-20 hours weekly.

Months 1-2: Foundations

We start with financial concepts and terminology. You'll understand transaction flows, account structures, and the basic regulatory landscape before touching code.

Months 3-4: Core Technical Skills

This is where you build. API integration, database design, security implementations. Weekly projects get reviewed by instructors who've debugged production systems.

Months 5-6: Specialization

Choose your focus area and go deeper. Work on case studies from actual fintech challenges. Some students collaborate on group projects during this phase.

Months 7-8: Portfolio Development

Build something substantial. We provide guidance on scope and architecture, but the implementation is yours. This becomes the centerpiece of your portfolio.

Instructor with extensive fintech development experience

Taught By Practitioners

Lead Instructor: Brylee Kavanagh

Brylee spent eight years building payment infrastructure at two Australian fintech startups. She's debugged authorization failures at 2am, argued with compliance teams about implementation details, and shipped code that processed over 0 million in transactions.

Before teaching, she led a team of five engineers working on real-time payment reconciliation systems. She knows what skills actually matter when you're staring at a production incident.

Our other instructors bring similar backgrounds. We only hire people who've built things that had to work.
